The Kayak Eskimo Roll
While the eskimo roll is not essential to paddle the easier rivers,
it is an important skill to have for anyone
who is serious about white water kayaking. It can make
the difference between a safe, fun filled day on the river
or an unpleasant "swim" or worse.
Kayak Eskimo Roll Instruction
Note that for all Cleveland Kayak classes,
we provide the kayak and all the gear you'll need. Or, if you own your own kayak and gear, we
will give you a discount.
Learning to roll may be undertaken at any time before, after, and/or in between taking
the series of fundamentals through white water kayak classes.
Indoor Roll Classes - Over for the Season

This semi-private session (one instructor for two students) is taught in an indoor heated pool.
Before entering the water we will
review the basics of the gear and the eskimo roll, then
get you fitted into a boat. Once in the pool you will receive individual coaching
on all aspects of how to roll. If this is your first time,
we will teach you the all important wet exit.
If you have some experience rolling but just need some coaching, we can provide that too.

Outdoor Roll Classes - Over for the Season
|
These are semi-private sessions where you can start to learn how to execute an eskimo
roll, or work on perfecting your roll. Each session is determined by the individual student.
These sessions are a good way to learn or work on your roll.
